ARTICLE 10: THE RACING CODE — RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

10.a) Race Crate Usage:
Members must return all borrowed crates/grads in a clean, sanitized, and undamaged condition by the specified deadline.
Violations will result in:
(i) Charging of cleaning/repair/replacement costs;
(ii) Temporary suspension of borrowing privileges;
(iii) Disciplinary action for repeat offenses.

10.b) Participation in Other Clubs:
  • Participation in open races organized by other clubs is permitted.
  • Participation in closed/internal leagues or races of another club is strictly prohibited, as it constitutes a conflict of interest and dual membership.
  • Violation Penalties:
    • 1st Offense: Formal Written Warning
    • 2nd Offense: Full Season Suspension
    • 3rd Offense: Expulsion from KPTC
  • A member wishing to resign from KPTC to join another club permanently must submit a formal resignation in writing (See Article 20).
10.c) Clock & Timekeeping Ethics:
  • Only KPTC-approved and verified timing devices (manual clocks or Electronic Timing Systems - ETS) with official KPTC seals may be used.
  • Clocks must be presented at the official station for pre-race synchronization, sealing, and post-race verification within the stipulated, strict time window.
  • Late clock submission will result in automatic disqualification for that race.
  • Any form of tampering, alteration, or falsification of clock time or seals is deemed FRAUD and will lead to PERMANENT EXPULSION (See Article 19).
10.d) Loft Registration & Distance Measurement:
  • Every member's race loft must be officially registered with its exact GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude).
  • The distance from each loft to the liberation point will be calculated using these coordinates via a standard, declared method (e.g., Google Maps API, Great Circle Formula).
  • Any change in loft location must be notified in writing to the Secretary at least 14 days before the basketing of any race. The new coordinates will be verified by a committee member.
  • Providing false coordinates is a serious fraud (Article 19). The Club reserves the right to conduct unannounced loft inspections to verify coordinates and conditions.
10.e) Basketing & Sealing Protocol:
  • Pigeons must be brought to the designated basketing station within the announced timeframe. Latecomers will be refused entry.
  • Pigeons will be checked for health and ring validity by appointed officials before being basketed and sealed.
  • If a basket seal is found broken or tampered with before the official liberation, it constitutes FRAUD, and all pigeons in that basket may be disqualified, potentially leading to the member's expulsion.
10.f) Training Guidelines:
  • Official Club training tosses are conducted with the same rigor and standards as races, adhering to all health, timing, and liberation protocols.
  • The schedule and locations for training tosses will be announced in advance.
  • If a member uses Club equipment for a private training session, they must follow all KPTC rules and are solely responsible for any losses.
10.g) Race Release & Safety:
  • The designated Liberation Officer has absolute authority over the release.
  • Release will occur only if weather conditions (visibility, wind, precipitation, threat of predators) are deemed safe by the Officer.
  • The Officer's decision to hold, delay, or cancel a release is final and binding (See Article 16).
10.h) Race Entry Rules:
  • The Managing Committee may set a minimum or maximum number of pigeons a member can enter per race to ensure fairness and manage logistics.
  • All entries must be registered with the Race Secretary in advance, accompanied by full payment.
  • Withdrawn pigeons or no-shows will not result in a refund of entry fees.
10.i) Prohibited Practices:
  • Administration of performance-enhancing drugs or forbidden substances (See Article 11).
  • Any attempt to place one's pigeons closer to the liberation point ("proximity fraud").
  • Obstructing or interfering with transport vehicles, baskets, or officials.
  • Violations will lead to immediate disciplinary action under Article 19.
